![]() ![]() ![]() Let's say that Nippon could have formerly been an island with Yokai (Oni, Tengu, Kappa, etc), and when humans arrived on that island and tried to establish their homes there, they must have learned that they are actually there as guests, not as rulers. In this case, it occurs to me that the respect and admiration that the humans of Nippon have for the Yokkai (Oni, Tengu, etc.), makes them serve them instead of the other way around. That they are the biggest and the strongest, indoctrinated in the art of Tengu fencing. I think that being a dominant Oni-Tengu faction, the rest of the Yukai will be welcome in future DLC.īut always remembering that there will be human clans at the service of the Oni. That does not exclude the rest of creatures such as the Kappa or the Kitsune, among others. Perhaps simply because they are more popular, alongside the Tengu. Why oni specifically instead of yokai in general? In this way Nippon remains underground from the rest of the world, and humans are only a visible screen, in the eyes of the rest of the world. (When I mean Oni, I actually mean Oni-Tengu). Because humans simply live in nippon because the Oni shogunate allows it, but under the conditions that the Oni shogunate evokes. It is the Oni who send the humans to fight outside of Nippon. Just give a twist and affirm that yes, there are humans, even all the civilizations and kingdoms around Nippon have had to fight against human samurai, but the reality is different, it is that humans simply serve the purposes of the Oni shogunate. Now my intention is not to transgress so much the known Lore (which is a human kingdom). There are humans everywhere, and they are always the dominant culture. I also think that there are already too many human cultures. But its still much too far away from being finished that its unlikely to fall within the scope of WH3.īut having said that, I would be very fascinated to see it introduced in a way that heavily emphasises the more fantasy elements of Japanese culture rather than just being a human faction based on Japan. My guess regarding the lord info dump they gave a while back for Cathey and its relationship with the surrounding area and their avoidance of directly mentioning Nippon directly yet still hinting that its a significant issues for Cathey, is that GW themselves might have plans to introduce it at some point in a heavily revised manner. Sadly, if CA and GW are going with old lore, then they are still human dominated nations as far as I know but this would be a retcon I'd 150% be fine with. ![]() But whoever steps on the land of Nippon, never comes back alive.īut I'm also sceptical of the chances of Nippon getting in after CA specifically deconfirmed them*. This is why cultures think that Nippon is a human kingdom, since you only discover reality by stepping on Nippon, and there we discover that humans are simply the subordinate culture of the Oni. We could say that the other civilizations would only know that they are invaded by human Nipponese, because it is the humans whom the shogun Oni would send to do the dirty work of skirmishing, far from the territory of Nippon. Regarding the image, it is for reference purposes only (If you recognize its origin, do not get dense as usual).Īll the known stories of the Nippon Lore could be distorted interpretations that have come down to the scribes of the empire, and would actually be stories of the Oni rulers and shoguns.Įven Nippon being a very closed culture, little would be known of its Oni operation.Ĭathay could simply be invaded by humans from Nippon attacking the shores of Cathay, under the command of the Oni shogunate. Regarding the Lore, I think that just as the Lore of Cathay could be corrected, it could also be corrected based on something similar. While men, they would live serving the Oni shogunate. The Oni would be like the Orcs but much more educated and trained. The Oni would fulfill the role of being a monstrous but hyper civilized humanoid civilization, a visual antagonism to what the Orcs or Ogres are, who are totally uncivilized and disastrous. That would be very interesting, because it would give it this difference with respect to the other human kingdoms, where in Nippon humans would be like goblins are for the Orcs, a race that accompanies and serves a superior race, the Oni and the Tengu. I'd love for GW and CA to make Nippon an Onis shogunate, with some humans as allies. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.846 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai. ![]()
